NPS Wellness Policy
Research studies have demonstrated that effective school nutrition and physical education/fitness programs enhance students overall health and well-being as well as their behavior and academic success in school.
The NPS School Health Advisory Committee (SHAC) meets quarterly during the school year. The Committee is responsible for reviewing and recommending district-wide policies that promote student wellness. Committee membership includes: The superintendent, nurse leader, school nurses, school physician, director of health and wellness, NPS food services director, students, parents, prevention specialist, Natick's department of health director, Natick's park and recreation assistant director, NPS resource officer(s), and community members that serve youth and their families.
