Internships at Natick Public Schools

Natick Public Schools offers internships for students and post graduates interested in seeking valuable work experience in education.

Internships are unpaid positions providing education students with practical experience. We offer internships to students for academic credit.  Interns may intern during the school year and also in the summer.

Participating interns gain on-the-job training that integrates education, career development and public service, while Natick Public Schools benefits from the contributions of creative and innovative students. Internships allow students the opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills in a professional setting while still in school. Internships offer carefully planned and monitored work experience with the goal being to gain additional knowledge from on-the-job exposure.
Intern Onboarding Process - For Prospective Interns
Intern Onboarding Process - For Universities

  • All students must explore the possibility of earning academic credit through their colleges and/or universities. Students or their advisor will align them with a mentor.

  • The intern applies for a Pre-Practicum Unpaid Internship through our Careers Portal.

  • The college/university emails a contract/agreement to Rosie Palanukorn. The contract must be reviewed, approved and signed by the Superintendent. Principals/teachers/staff may not sign contracts or placement requests.

  • If the contract/agreement is approved, HR will initiate the onboarding process via TalentEd, our Human Resources software. The intern will receive an email with their NPS email. Once they login to their Natick email, they will see an email from Natick Public Schools regarding a checklist being assigned to them. The intern then follows the instructions in the email to login to TalentEd and will see the list of onboarding documents that need to be completed; CORI, Fingerprinting, Waiver, and Mandated Training.

  • Once the intern has completed their onboarding, they will receive an email from the school's point-person/mentor confirming their start date.
